I am Howard Martin, one of the most experienced sex and porn addiction therapists operating in the U.K.. Over the last fifteen years I have successfully helped hundreds of men and women break free from problematic sexual behaviours, including sex and porn addiction and to live happy, fulfilling relationships. I am also trained to help people with a range of other issues, such as depression, anxiety and stress.
I deliver online therapy for clients throughout Wales and the U.K. and also work from comfortable counselling rooms in Swansea and Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire.
It can be difficult to deal with sex addiction recovery alone - a sense of hopelessness can set in from repeatedly unsuccessful attempts to control sexual behaviours that cause us harmful consequences. Expert help from a counsellor / therapist is usually needed to lessen shame, understand our behaviour, devise practical recovery strategies and create a happier sex life.
I am registered with U.K.C.P. (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy), am a founder member of A.T.S.A.C. (Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity) and have taught on one of their accredited therapist training courses. I have a Masters degree in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute and am a Viva examiner on their current MSc course. I have also facilitated sex addict support groups for many years.
Recovery from sex and porn addiction can be about a positive embracing of sexuality and self-acceptance. I am committed to a non-judgmental approach to all sexual behaviours, identities and orientations. My aim is to provide a sex - positive counselling process, using a combination of empathy, personal experience, professional counsellor training and the latest neuroscience research to provide fulfilling results for you.
